SEX WHEN TRYING TO CONCEIVE

When growing up, most of our sex education focuses on avoiding pregnancy, and it leads us to think that once we are ready to get pregnant it will just happen. And yes, for some people is that easy, but for many of us it’s a lot more complicated than “just having sex”.

Of course, there is a lot more involved in fertility than sex, but getting the timing right is the first step.

I believe information and education are power. This is why I have put together this guide. Debunking some myths, telling some truths, and sharing some curiosities that might surprise you (and hopefully help you get pregnant).

  • When and how often to have sex to conceive?.

  • How to time the best quality sperm.

  • How to improve sperm receptivity by the woman’s immune system.

  • How about orgasms? Are they needed to conceive?

  • Are there specific positions that promote conception?

Women’s health specialist nurse and pre-conception/fertility coach.
I have worked for 14 years as a nurse and the last 7 years as a women’s health specialist in the NHS.
Over the years I’ve witnessed many women going through infertility and early pregnancy challenges. I’ve noticed the impact that the general lack of education about women’s health, hormones and menstrual cycle has on fertility.

I want to tell you that there is hope and there are many things you can do to improve your chances to conceive, no matter if you are trying naturally or through assisted reproductive technologies.

Understanding how your body works and what you can do support it, will give you the power to make the right choices to improve your fertility and get closer to having a baby.

My mission is to help you to get pregnant, through evidence-based information, simple steps and personalised guidance.
